Getting to Vienna

If you choose Austrian – the official ECSA 2014 carrier – for your journey to Vienna you are eligible for a 15% discount on your airfare. All you need to do is enter “ECSA14” into the eVoucher field when booking.

How to get here

By Public Transport

  • From the airport: a) Take CAT to Wien Mitte, then U4 to Schottenring, then U2 to Schottentor, then Tram 37/38/40/41/42 to Spitalgasse/Währinger Straße. b) Take S7 (direction Wien Floridsdorf) to Wien Praterstern, then U2 to Schottentor, then Tram 37/38/40/41/42 to Spitalgasse/Währinger Straße
  • From Wien Westbahnhof: a) Take Tram 5 to Lazarettgasse. b) Take U3 to Volkstheater, then U2 to Schottentor, then Tram 37/38/40/41/42 to Spitalgasse/Währinger Straße.
  • From Wien Meidling: a) Take U6 to Währinger Straße-Volksoper, then take Tram 40/41/42 (direction Schottentor) to Sensengasse.
  • From anywhere in Vienna: relevant stations are Sensengasse, Lazarettgasse, Spitalgasse, Schottentor

By Car

Parking in Vienna is restricted, maximum parking time around the Faculty building is two hours and you need a parking voucher.

  • From the airport/the East: take the A4 (direction Vienna), stay on it until the end. Continue on Schüttelstraße, turn left onto Alserbachstraße, turn left onto Nußdorfer Straße, turn left onto Währinger Straße.
  • From the West: take the A1 to Wien Auhof, then follow signs to Wien Zentrum. At Schloss Schönbrunn turn left onto Schloßallee. After the train underpass turn right onto Felberstraße. At its end turn left onto Gürtel, then turn right onto Währinger Straße.
  • From the South: take the A2 until the interchange Knoten Vösendorf. Then follow signs for B17/Zentrum/Gürtel. Merge onto Triester Straße, then turn left onto Margaretengürtel. Stay on Gürtel, then turn right onto Währinger Straße
  • From the North: Take the A22, then merge right at Knoten Floridsdorf. Follow the signs for Zentrum/Gürtel/Nordbrücke/B221. Keep following the signs for Gürtel. Turn left onto Nußdorfer Straße, then turn left onto Währinger Straße.
